High Performance Green Buildings
Requests for High Performance Green Buildings Grant Opportunities are accepted on a rolling review basis throughout the year. Please note that the facility to be designed and commissioned must be owned by the grant applicant, located in Illinois, and used primarily or entirely by the applicant for its tax exempt purpose. The facility must also meet minimum LEED Gold certification standards to be eligible for this program.
Because of the time required to prepare a proposal, the Foundation strongly recommends applicants contact Bob Romo at 312-372-5191 to discuss your project prior to submitting a proposal. Applicants requesting funding for renewable energy systems as part of a LEED Gold building project should also contact Gabriela Martin at 312-372-5191.
You will be notified approximately two to four months from receipt of your proposal of the Foundation's decision on your request. The Foundation's review process is competitive. Not all applicants will be awarded grants.

The High Performance Green Building Application is a single application for both design & commissioning and energy efficiency and/or renewable energy systems. The online applicaton consists of several steps as shown below:
Step 1:RETURN TO APPLICATION/ACCESS ACCOUNT MENU
Step 2: Complete All Required Application Fields Online. The online application will prompt you complete all required items. If you do not complete all requirements, you will not be able to submit a complete application.
The online application is self-explanatory. It will require that certain attachments be completed either online or attached to the application.

Step 3: Review and Submit Your Online Application. Once you are finished entering information and attaching any required documents, click "Review and Submit." You will have an opportunity to review materials before submitting your application. If any elements are missing, you will be prompted to complete the relevant section or attach the needed document before moving forward.
After clicking "Submit," you will receive an e-mail confirmation. If you do not receive an e-mail confirmation, please check your spam or junk folders for the message. Once you have submitted an application online, please do not mail a duplicate hard copy or any additional attachments or information. Program officers will contact you if they have questions or need additional information.
